Notes:

• If your vehicle lives in the "rust belt", then you will likely find it advantageous to replace the inner tierod, the outer tierod, and adjusting sleeve as one unit. Often, the tierods and adjusting sleeves are rusted together as one unit and will not seperate without use of a torch and pneumatic air hammer attachment.
• The napa chassis parts tie rods have a black colored zinc dichromate coating on them to inhibit corrosion
• The ford service part tie rods (2W7Z-3A130-AA and 2W7Z-3A131-AA) were the "lubed for life" units like used in production vehicles. But ford have since changed suppliers and now they contain zirk fittings. Although they still utilize a metal ball stud and a plastic bearing surface.
• Make sure that the tierod sleeve clamps face downwards so that they do not contact the swaybar. Leaving the tierod adjusting clamps facing upwards can cause hard to diagnose intermittent clunking sounds & steering wheel binding problems that only occur when the steering wheel is rotated to certain positions and the suspension is compressed a certain amount
• The 1979-1994 tierod adjusting sleeve is 9.49 inches long. The 1995-2002 tierod adjusting sleeve is 11.93 inches long. Use the short adjusting sleeves with the old style centerlink & pitman arm. Use the new longer adjusting sleeves with the new style centerlink & pitman arm.
