Ignition Switch Harness |
Hot with key in the "run" and "start"
positions |
Ignition 2 Climate control blower motor, A/C cycle switch, Turn Signal and Backup Lamps, Air Supension, Heated Windshield |
Gray/Yellow |
+ |
Ignition Switch Harness |
Hot with key in the "run" position
only. Not powered with key in the "start" position. Use an external relay due to the high current draw of blower motor |
Accessory 1 Radio, Power Windows, Windshield Wipers, Power Antenna |
Black/Light Green |
+ |
Ignition Switch Harness |
Hot with key in the "run" or "accessory"
positions. Not powered with key in the "start" position. Do not need to apply power to this wire during remote starting. |
Starter |
White/Pink |
+ |
Ignition Switch Harness |
Hot with the key in the "start" position
only. Some early vehicles use a red/light blue wire instead of a white/pink one. |
Power Door Locks (Lock) |
Pink/Yellow |
Behind Glovebox or in Drivers Door
Harness |
Vehicles with 2 doors are ground at
rest reverse polarity (5 wire). Vehicles with 4 doors use a positive trigger
(+) door lock system. |

Power Door Locks (Unlock) |
Pink/Light Green |
Behind Glovebox or in Drivers Door
Harness |
Vehicles with 2 doors are ground at
rest reverse polarity (5 wire). Vehicles with 4 doors use a positive trigger
(+) door lock system. |

Headlights |
Red/Yellow |
+ |
At Headlight Switch |
High current flow. Red/yellow wire
connects to the headlamp bulbs. Black/Orange wire on the headlamp switch
is a constant +12V source. |
Door Trigger |
Black/Light Blue |
+ |
At underdash courtesy bulbs or at headlight
switch or at door jamb switch |
|
Igntion Key Warning |
Black/Pink |
- |
At warning buzzer or at base of steering
column |
Supplies a ground path to the warning
buzzer module when the ignition key is in the lock cylinder. |
Neutral Safety |
Park neutral switch is located on
the transmission and electrically opens the starter circuit unless
the gear selector is in park or neutral |
|||
Horn |
Yellow/Light Green |
- |
At base of steering column |
On vehicles prior to 1985, the horn
was engaged by pushing the turn signal arm inwards. To sound the horn on
early vehicles, use a relay to send a high current +12V pulse to the blue
wire at the base of the steering column. |
Trunk Release Solenoid |
Purple/Yellow |
+ |
At Switch |
Applying +12V to this wire opens the
trunk |
Reverse Lights |
Black/Pink |

Behind drivers kickpanel or in bundle
of wires above drivers rocker panel |
|
Tachometer |
Dark Green/Yellow |
At Ignition Coil |
||
Brake Light Switch |
Light Green |
+ |
At brake light switch or behind drivers
kickpanel or in bundle of wires above drivers rocker panel |
|
Rear Window Defroster |
The rear window defroster timer is
integrated into the switch assembly. To engage the timer from a momentary
output of an alarm, disassemble the switch and solder two wires to the
circuit board where the push button contacts connect. Then use an additional
relay to emulate the button being depressed. |
|||
Rear Window Defroster Element Feed |
Gray/Yellow |
+ |
At defrost switch |
To bypass the factory timer module
all together and supply +12V directly to the defroster elements, use
a latching output of the remote start module to drive a relay that connects
the Yellow wire (constant +12V) with the Gray/Yellow wire on the defrost
switch. |
