Supplies a ground path to the LCM when the ignition key is in the lock cylinder. Note that cutting this wire will not disable the warning buzzer tone when the key is in the accessory position and the drivers door is opened

Tachometer


At COP assembly or at PCM
There is no true tachometer source on 98'-02' crown victorias. But using one of the coil on plug ignition coils signal wires will be acceptable for most recent remote starters. There are two wires on each coil, one is a constant +12V source Red/Light Green, the other is the pulsed ground signal wire.

If a true tachometer source is needed, an aftermarket "tach adapter" can be installed.
Brake Light Switch

Rear Window Defroster Switch

Supply a momentary ground pulse to engage the rear window defroster.
Rear Window Defroster Element Feed

At LCM or in bundle of wires above passengers rocker panel
Supply a continuous +12V to this wire to engage the rear window defroster. Bypasses the LCM timer all together and supplies +12V directly to the defroster elements.

Notes:

2003 Civilian crown victorias are PATS equipped, use the ford Securilock Kit #3 (Part Number 1L2Z-19G365-AB) or DEI 555U to termporarily bypass the antitheft system during remote starting. Police interceptors are not PATS equipped and do not require the securilock bypass kit.
